 1-2                              SENATE RESOLUTION
 1-3           WHEREAS, A 68th wedding anniversary is a momentous occasion
 1-4     worthy of pride and joy; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Reverend Freeman and Hellen Pearson placed great
 1-6     faith and trust in the future when they were married on Christmas
 1-7     Day in 1928, and they have been amply rewarded, as they recently
 1-8     celebrated their 68th anniversary; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, The achievement of this important milestone in their
1-10     lives is the result of the love, devotion, and mutual respect of
1-11     two outstanding individuals; and
1-12           WHEREAS, Reverend and Mrs. Pearson observed their anniversary
1-13     on December 25, 1996, with their family; their children, Phyllis
1-14     and Albert Hoffpauir, Aquilla and Nelson Chase, Carroll and Joann
1-15     Pearson, John and Margie Pearson, Paul and Joyce Pearson, Cecil
1-16     and Letha Pearson, Ray and Sharon Pearson, and Gwendolyn and
1-17     Sandy Crider, and their 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren
1-18     have been a source of much pride; and
1-19           WHEREAS, God's grace and joy have been bestowed in abundance
1-20     on this esteemed couple; now, therefore, be it
1-21           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
1-22     75th Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to
1-23     Reverend and Mrs. Freeman Pearson on their 68th wedding
 2-1     anniversary; and, be it further
 2-2           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 2-3     this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day
 2-4     in their lives.
