 1-2                              SENATE RESOLUTION

 1-3           WHEREAS, Tiny Ruth Woodson and J. H. "Buddy" Nix, Jr.,

 1-4     placed great faith and trust in the future when they married

 1-5     on December 24, 1946, and they have been amply rewarded as they

 1-6     recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary; and

 1-7           WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the

 1-8     years of their marriage, yet Mr. and Mrs. Nix of Greenville have

 1-9     steadfastly embraced traditional family and moral values; and

1-10           WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown stronger in their

1-11     love and devotion as together they have experienced the joys and

1-12     sorrows of everyday living; and

1-13           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Nix have been blessed with a wonderful

1-14     family; their three children, Mrs. Jan Norton, Mrs. Jerry Brantley,

1-15     and Mrs. Paul Maldonado, Jr., and their four grandchildren have

1-16     been a source of much pride and joy; and

1-17           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Nix shared their happiness with their

1-18     family and friends at a reception in the fellowship room of

1-19     Johnson Street Church of Christ; and

1-20           WHEREAS, The long and happy union of Mr. and Mrs. Nix is

1-21     truly an inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it

1-22           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

1-23     75th Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to

 2-1     Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Nix, Jr., on their 50th wedding anniversary;

 2-2     and, be it further

 2-3           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

 2-4     this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in

 2-5     their lives.
