No. 42 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-3 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes great 1-4 pleasure in recognizing Sandra Shaw on her 20th anniversary with 1-5 the Brazosport Area Chamber of Commerce; and 1-6 WHEREAS, This remarkable lady began work with the chamber 1-7 on January 13, 1977, as a bookkeeper; she progressed through the 1-8 years to the positions of manager of membership and finance, 1-9 executive director, and executive vice president to her present 1-10 position as president and chief executive officer; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Business colleagues and friends gathered to surprise 1-12 Mrs. Shaw with a party celebrating her 20 years with the chamber 1-13 on January 13, 1997, and she greatly enjoyed the festivities; and 1-14 WHEREAS, The citizens of Brazosport and Brazoria County 1-15 have been fortunate to have such an enthusiastic and able woman 1-16 as head of their chamber of commerce; and 1-17 WHEREAS, Believing in community involvement, Sandra and 1-18 her husband, Wayne A. Shaw, president of the Eagle Group, live 1-19 in Lake Jackson and participate in many civic activities; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Gifted and dynamic, Mrs. Shaw appreciates her 1-21 job because it is never routine; she keeps up with 21 chamber 1-22 committees and advisory boards, represents the chamber at 1-23 community events, and still keeps the chamber office running 2-1 smoothly everyday; and 2-2 WHEREAS, Through her many selfless actions, this worthy 2-3 civic leader has touched the lives of thousands; now, therefore, 2-4 be it 2-5 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-6 75th Legislature, hereby commend and applaud the 20 years of 2-7 superb service and exceptional accomplishments of Sandra Shaw 2-8 and wish her continuing success; and, be it further 2-9 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her 2-10 as an expression of the high regard and esteem of the Texas Senate. 2-11 ______________________________________ 2-12 President of the Senate 2-13 I hereby certify that the above 2-14 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-15 on January 22, 1997. 2-16 ______________________________________ 2-17 Secretary of the Senate 2-18 ______________________________________ 2-19 Member, Texas Senate
