 1-2                              SENATE RESOLUTION

 1-3           WHEREAS, December 22, 1996, will be a day long remembered and

 1-4     cherished by Mr. and Mrs. Jack Turner of Greenville, Texas, for

 1-5     on that day they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; and

 1-6           WHEREAS, Nelda Beggs and Jack Turner were married on

 1-7     December 22, 1946, in Sherman, Texas, and they have built a life

 1-8     together based on loyalty and devotion; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, With the passage of time, Mr. and Mrs. Turner have

1-10     grown ever stronger in their love and friendship as together

1-11     they have experienced the joys and sorrows of everyday living; and

1-12           WHEREAS, This happy couple has been blessed with a wonderful

1-13     family; their children, Gary and Phyllis Turner and Robert and

1-14     Gala Akins, have been the source of much enjoyment, and they are

1-15     the proud grandparents of three wonderful grandchildren; and

1-16           WHEREAS, In commemoration of their golden anniversary, Nelda

1-17     and Jack were honored with a reception in the fellowship hall of

1-18     the First Baptist Church hosted by their children; and

1-19           WHEREAS, The loving respect they share with one another is

1-20     evident to all who are fortunate to know them; now, therefore,

1-21     be it

1-22           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

1-23     75th Legislature, hereby join the relatives and friends of

 2-1     Mr. and Mrs. Jack Turner in extending them best wishes and

 2-2     congratulations on their 50th wedding anniversary; and, be

 2-3     it further

 2-4           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the

 2-5     distinguished couple as a memento of this grand occasion.
