 1-1                              SENATE RESOLUTION

 1-2                                  In Memory

 1-3                                     of

 1-4                                  Dan Shull

 1-5           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the

 1-6     citizens of Lindale in mourning the loss of Dan Shull, who

 1-7     died January 3, 1997, at the age of 70; and

 1-8           WHEREAS, Born November 26, 1926, in LeCompte, Louisiana,

 1-9     Dan Shull served in the United States Navy during World War II

1-10     and lived in Euless before moving to Lindale in 1978; and

1-11           WHEREAS, An exemplary and distinguished gentleman, Mr. Shull

1-12     was respected for his many accomplishments and was a leader in his

1-13     community; he was dedicated to his work as the owner and operator

1-14     of Shull Utility Construction Company and had served for two terms

1-15     on the Euless City Council; and

1-16           WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, and generosity, he

1-17     gave unselfishly of his time to others, and his wisdom, warmth,

1-18     and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him;

1-19     and

1-20           WHEREAS, A devout Christian, he was a member of Calvary

1-21     Baptist Church of Grand Prairie; and

1-22           WHEREAS, Dan Shull was a devoted husband, father, and

1-23     grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be

 2-1     treasured forever by his family and many friends; now,

 2-2     therefore, be it

 2-3           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

 2-4     75th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the

 2-5     bereaved family of Dan Shull:  his wife, Elizabeth Shull; his

 2-6     sons, Gene Shull and Danny Shull; his daughter, Virginia Becknell;

 2-7     his sisters, Juanita Clifton and Maxine Tinsley; and his nine

 2-8     grandchildren; and, be it further

 2-9           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

2-10     the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy

2-11     from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this

2-12     day, it do so in memory of Dan Shull.
