 1-2                              SENATE RESOLUTION

 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to

 1-4     recognize Daren Twain Tharp of San Antonio on achieving the

 1-5     rank of Eagle Scout; this fine young man joined the elite corps

 1-6     of Eagles recently and was presented the coveted Eagle Badge at

 1-7     a Court of Honor; and

 1-8           WHEREAS, Few achieve this distinguished honor; only two out

 1-9     of every 100 boys in the Boy Scout program ever attain the rank

1-10     of Eagle Scout; and

1-11           WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath

1-12     and promise, Daren advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot,

1-13     Second, First, Star, and Life classes before reaching Eagle Scout;

1-14     and

1-15           WHEREAS, This personable young man has displayed leadership

1-16     through planning, developing, and conducting a service project;

1-17     he is truly a shining example to his fellow Scouts and citizens

1-18     of his community; and

1-19           WHEREAS, In being named Eagle Scout, Daren Tharp brings

1-20     great honor to himself, his family, his troop, his community,

1-21     and his state; now, therefore, be it

1-22           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

1-23     75th Legislature, hereby commend Daren Twain Tharp of Troop 285

 2-1     on receiving this prestigious honor and congratulate him on his

 2-2     outstanding achievement; and, be it further

 2-3           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

 2-4     Eagle Scout Tharp as an expression of high regard and esteem

 2-5     from the Texas Senate.
