 1-2                              SENATE RESOLUTION

 1-3                                  In Memory

 1-4                                     of

 1-5                             Carmen Munoz Pompa

 1-6           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens

 1-7     of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Mrs. Carmen Munoz Pompa,

 1-8     who died on December 5, 1996, at the age of 72; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, A native and lifetime resident of San Antonio,

1-10     Carmen Munoz married Saul Pompa, and together they raised eight

1-11     children; and

1-12           WHEREAS, This notable lady had warmth and grace; she taught

1-13     her family strength of character and imparted a high standard of

1-14     values to the members of her household; and

1-15           WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Mrs. Pompa was a member of

1-16     Saint Paul's Catholic Church; and

1-17           WHEREAS, A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she

1-18     is remembered for the affection, confidence, and loyalty she

1-19     inspired in those with whom she was associated; and

1-20           WHEREAS, A respected and beloved member of her community,

1-21     Carmen will be remembered for her devotion to her family, friends,

1-22     and church; she leaves a legacy of compassion and commitment that

1-23     will be treasured by those who knew her; now, therefore, be it

 2-1           RESOLVED, That the Senate of Texas, 75th Legislature, hereby

 2-2     extend sincere condolences to the members of the family of

 2-3     Carmen Munoz Pompa:  her husband, Saul Pompa; her children,

 2-4     Delia Pompa, Elizabeth Garza, Toni Pompa-Rodriguez, Mary Ann Pompa,

 2-5     Saul Pompa, Jr., Michael Pompa, David Pompa, and

 2-6     Melissa Pompa-de La Cruz; her sister, Mercedes Melchor; her brother,

 2-7     Ruben Munoz; and her 13 grandchildren; and, be it further

 2-8           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

 2-9     her family as an expression of the deepest sympathy of the

2-10     Texas Senate, and when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so

2-11     in memory of Carmen Munoz Pompa.
