No. 74 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION 1-3 WHEREAS, Felicia Fisk-Blackwell of North Richland Hills 1-4 represented Texas at the National Miss American Princess Pageant 1-5 held during Thanksgiving Week, 1996, and the Texas Senate takes 1-6 pleasure in recognizing her for her notable accomplishment; and 1-7 WHEREAS, The daughter of Robert D. and Pattie A. Blackwell, 1-8 Felicia is a second grader at Holiday Heights Elementary School, 1-9 where she has had perfect attendance for the past two years and 1-10 is on the honor roll; and 1-11 WHEREAS, The seven-year-old is a leader in her class and 1-12 popular with her classmates; very outgoing, Felicia has an 1-13 outstanding personality and lots of freckles to go with her 1-14 naturally curly red hair; and 1-15 WHEREAS, The Miss American Princess Pageant is the second 1-16 pageant in which she has competed, and she has also been in 1-17 several parades; during her reign as Miss Texas American Princess, 1-18 the charming young lady has had the privilege of meeting with 1-19 various dignitaries; and 1-20 WHEREAS, The lovely young Texan has brought a sense of 1-21 tremendous pride to her school, her family, her community, and 1-22 her state; now, therefore, be it 1-23 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-1 75th Legislature, hereby extend heartiest congratulations 2-2 to Felicia Fisk-Blackwell with best wishes for continued 2-3 success in all her endeavors; and, be it further 2-4 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-5 Felicia as a memento of this special occasion and as an 2-6 expression of the admiration of the Texas Senate. 2-7 ______________________________________ 2-8 President of the Senate 2-9 I hereby certify that the above 2-10 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-11 on January 28, 1997. 2-12 ______________________________________ 2-13 Secretary of the Senate 2-14 ______________________________________ 2-15 Member, Texas Senate
