 1-2                              SENATE RESOLUTION

 1-3           WHEREAS, The City of Houston and the State of Texas are

 1-4     justly proud of one of their fine young citizens, Matthew Alan Crew,

 1-5     who recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout; and

 1-6           WHEREAS, This outstanding young gentleman brought honor

 1-7     to himself, his family, his troop, his community, and his state

 1-8     in earning the coveted Eagle Badge; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, Matthew completed a service project which

1-10     required him to exercise his leadership abilities and at the

1-11     same time benefit his community; and

1-12           WHEREAS, Few are ever privileged to be named among the

1-13     ranks of the elite corps of Eagle Scouts; only two out of every

1-14     100 Boy Scouts reach this lofty position; and

1-15           WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath

1-16     and promise, Matthew advanced from Tenderfoot, Second, First,

1-17     Star, and Life classes to that of Eagle Scout; he is truly an

1-18     exemplary citizen of the State of Texas; now, therefore, be it

1-19           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

1-20     75th Legislature, hereby congratulate Matthew Alan Crew on

1-21     attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and commend him on this

1-22     great achievement; and, be it further

1-23           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared

 2-1     for Eagle Scout Crew as a token of great admiration and

 2-2     esteem from the Texas Senate.
