 1-2                              SENATE RESOLUTION

 1-3           WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans

 1-4     who have shared 50 happy and fulfilling years of marriage is

 1-5     truly a memorable occasion worthy of special recognition; and

 1-6           WHEREAS, Billie and Edward Harden were married on

 1-7     January 22, 1947; and

 1-8           WHEREAS, Mr. Harden is the pastor of the House of Prayer

 1-9     Church of God in Christ, and Mrs. Harden has enjoyed being a

1-10     homemaker for her husband and children; and

1-11           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Harden celebrated their 50th wedding

1-12     anniversary on January 18, 1997, with a reception at the Wills

1-13     Point Chamber of Commerce hosted by the House of Prayer Church

1-14     and the Harden family; and

1-15           WHEREAS, The long and successful union of Mr. and Mrs. Harden

1-16     is certainly an inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it

1-17           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

1-18     75th Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to

1-19     Mr. and Mrs. Edward Harden on the occasion of their 50th wedding

1-20     anniversary; and, be it further

1-21           RESOLVED, That a special copy of this Resolution be prepared

1-22     for this distinguished couple as a memento of this distinctive

1-23     day in their lives.
