 1-2                              SENATE RESOLUTION

 1-3           WHEREAS, Kathrine and R. G. Weatherly placed great faith and

 1-4     trust in the future when they married in 1947, and they have been

 1-5     amply rewarded as they recently celebrated their 50th wedding

 1-6     anniversary; and

 1-7           WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the years

 1-8     of their marriage, yet Mr. and Mrs. Weatherly of Greenville have

 1-9     steadfastly embraced traditional family and moral values; and

1-10           WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown stronger in their

1-11     love and devotion as together they have experienced the joys and

1-12     sorrows of everyday living; and

1-13           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Weatherly have been blessed with a

1-14     wonderful family; their children, John Weatherly and Elaine Dillon,

1-15     and their five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren have been

1-16     a source of much pride and joy; and

1-17           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Weatherly celebrated their anniversary

1-18     on Thursday, January 23, 1997; and

1-19           WHEREAS, The long and happy union of Mr. and Mrs. Weatherly

1-20     is truly an inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it

1-21           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

1-22     75th Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to

1-23     Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Weatherly on their 50th wedding anniversary;

 2-1     and, be it further

 2-2           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

 2-3     this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in

 2-4     their lives.
