 1-2                              SENATE RESOLUTION

 1-3           WHEREAS, January 17, 1997, will be a day long remembered and

 1-4     cherished by Mr. and Mrs. Ernest B. Jones of Dallas for on that day

 1-5     the devoted couple observed their 50th wedding anniversary; and

 1-6           WHEREAS, The world has changed greatly during the intervening

 1-7     years, yet Ernest Brady and Imogene Savage Jones have remained

 1-8     steadfast to traditional family and moral values; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, With the passage of time, Mr. and Mrs. Jones have

1-10     grown ever stronger in their affection and friendship as together

1-11     they have experienced the joys and sorrows of everyday living; and

1-12           WHEREAS, The loving respect they share with one another is

1-13     evident to all who are fortunate to know them; and

1-14           WHEREAS, This happy couple has been blessed with a wonderful

1-15     family; their three children and five grandchildren have been the

1-16     source of much enjoyment; and

1-17           WHEREAS, Family and friends joined in congratulating them and

1-18     sharing in their joyful celebration of this important milestone in

1-19     their lives; now, therefore, be it

1-20           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 75th Legislature,

1-21     hereby extend best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Ernest B. Jones on their

1-22     golden wedding anniversary; and, be it further

1-23           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the

 2-1     distinguished couple as a memento of this grand occasion.
