 1-2                              SENATE RESOLUTION

 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in

 1-4     welcoming to Texas the 12 German students from the University

 1-5     of Hannover in Hannover, Germany, who are participating in the

 1-6     Southwest Texas State University student exchange program; and

 1-7           WHEREAS, The students from Germany and Dr. J. Miller Jones,

 1-8     a professor from the English Department at the University of

 1-9     Hannover, are visiting Texas and Southwest Texas State University

1-10     from February 7 until March 7, 1997; and

1-11           WHEREAS, This excellent exchange program began several years

1-12     ago, and its participants are exemplary students who are interested

1-13     in furthering their knowledge of other cultures and in receiving

1-14     a first-rate education; and

1-15           WHEREAS, Texans are privileged to have these talented

1-16     students and their professor as guests in our state, and it is

1-17     sincerely hoped that their visit here is a productive and

1-18     enjoyable one; now, therefore, be it

1-19           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

1-20     75th Legislature, hereby extend hospitality and a warm welcome

1-21     to Serap Altinisik, Michael Dziallas, Dagmar Ernst, Angelika Finke,

1-22     Judith Friedrich, Maren Kaminski, Ulf Kossatz, Octavia Masur,

1-23     Goran Marinkovic, Lars Menz, Ulrich Salden, Anna Wiethuchter,

 2-1     and Dr. J. Miller Jones; and, be it further

 2-2           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

 2-3     them as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
