 1-2                              SENATE RESOLUTION

 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in

 1-4     recognizing the members of the Mansfield High School Gold Dusters

 1-5     Drill Team on the occasion of their visit to the State Capitol;

 1-6     and

 1-7           WHEREAS, Mansfield High School is widely recognized as a

 1-8     first-rate institution, and the visit on March 6, 1997, at the

 1-9     Capitol by its drill team is an example of the high standards the

1-10     school upholds and the excellent educational opportunities it

1-11     provides; and

1-12           WHEREAS, Over the years, the Mansfield High School drill

1-13     team has produced some spectacular performances, excelling in

1-14     creativity and choreography; and

1-15           WHEREAS, The members of this year's Gold Dusters drill team

1-16     have consistently displayed talent and stellar athletic ability,

1-17     and they will undoubtedly be highly successful in the state drill

1-18     team competition on March 7 and 8; and

1-19           WHEREAS, The students of today are the citizens and leaders

1-20     of tomorrow's society who will carry on with the responsibilities

1-21     of our democratic heritage; and

1-22           WHEREAS, It is inspirational to see the members of this

1-23     outstanding drill team demonstrating an interest in the processes

 2-1     of their state government by visiting the Capitol, and it is

 2-2     sincerely hoped their visit to Austin and the Capitol proves most

 2-3     enjoyable; now, therefore, be it

 2-4           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

 2-5     75th Legislature, hereby extend a warm welcome to the Mansfield

 2-6     High School Gold Dusters Drill Team and best wishes for continued

 2-7     success; and, be it further

 2-8           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

 2-9     the drill team as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
