 1-2                              SENATE RESOLUTION

 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride

 1-4     in recognizing Trisha Brown, a member of the 1997 Texas All-State

 1-5     Academic Team; and

 1-6           WHEREAS, Trisha Brown is one of six El Paso Community

 1-7     College students who are competing in the national USA Today/PTK

 1-8     Academic All-American competition; the students are being honored

 1-9     February 20, 1997, in Austin as part of the Texas All-State

1-10     Academic Team; and

1-11           WHEREAS, These El Paso Community College students are

1-12     academically gifted students and are members of the Phi Theta

1-13     Kappa Texas Chapter for high academic achievers; and

1-14           WHEREAS, Trisha Brown enjoys treating and caring for

1-15     animals, and her goal is to become a veterinarian; she is a

1-16     talented artist and has earned first place for three consecutive

1-17     years for her watercolor exhibits; and

1-18           WHEREAS, Trisha is a superior student whose talent and

1-19     industriousness have brought honor to her family and community

1-20     and El Paso Community College; now, therefore, be it

1-21           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

1-22     75th Legislature, hereby commend Trisha Brown on her exceptional

1-23     accomplishments and extend to her congratulations on earning a

 2-1     position on the Texas All-State Academic Team; and, be it further

 2-2           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared

 2-3     for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
