 1-2                              SENATE RESOLUTION

 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in

 1-4     recognizing EduCare Community Living Corporation-America on

 1-5     the grand occasion of its 10th anniversary; and

 1-6           WHEREAS, EduCare was founded in Texas in 1987; headquartered

 1-7     in Austin, the company now serves more than 900 people and has

 1-8     approximately 2,000 employees in Texas, New Mexico, Nevada, and

 1-9     North Carolina; and

1-10           WHEREAS, EduCare provides cost-effective, high-quality

1-11     services to people with disabilities, and its team of human

1-12     services professionals and business experts are first rate and

1-13     efficient; and

1-14           WHEREAS, The company places emphasis on the individual needs

1-15     of the people in its care, rather than relying on a generic model

1-16     of providing services; it also successfully balances the needs of

1-17     the people with the needs of the organization; and

1-18           WHEREAS, EduCare's employees are hardworking and dedicated to

1-19     providing unparalleled services; in 1996, 31 of EduCare's six-bed

1-20     intermediate care facilities for people with mental retardation

1-21     were surveyed, and the company averaged 0.45 deficiencies per

1-22     survey, a remarkable achievement; now, therefore, be it

1-23           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

 2-1     75th Legislature, hereby commend EduCare Community Living

 2-2     Corporation-America on its outstanding services on behalf of

 2-3     people with disabilities and extend to the company best wishes

 2-4     on the occasion of its 10th anniversary; and, be it further

 2-5           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

 2-6     EduCare as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
