 1-3                                  In Memory

 1-4                                     of

 1-5                         Jacque Ione Foster McClure

 1-6           WHEREAS, The family and many friends of Jacque Ione Foster

 1-7     McClure were greatly saddened by her passing on December 23, 1996,

 1-8     and we join them in bidding a reluctant farewell to this notable

 1-9     Texan; and

1-10           WHEREAS, A vital and valued member of the community,

1-11     Mrs. McClure gave freely of her time and talent to numerous

1-12     organizations, including the Parent-Teacher Association, Beta

1-13     Sigma Phi, the Silverbelle Cattle-women, and the American Cancer

1-14     Society; she also served as president of the Sterling County

1-15     Hospital Board and was a worthy matron in the Order of the

1-16     Eastern Star; and

1-17           WHEREAS, Mrs. McClure was also an active member of Sterling

1-18     City Methodist Church, and her leadership and enthusiasm greatly

1-19     benefitted the work of the church's building committee, worship

1-20     committee, and Bible school program; and

1-21           WHEREAS, Mrs. Foster was known throughout West Texas as a

1-22     hostess of charm and taste; her natural warmth and openness endeared

1-23     her to all who met her, and she and her husband, Winn, spent many

 2-1     happy hours entertaining, both in their home and as caterers for

 2-2     parties across the region; and

 2-3           WHEREAS, Despite her many accomplishments, Jacque McClure

 2-4     derived her greatest joy and satisfaction from her large and loving

 2-5     family, and it is as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother that

 2-6     she will be most fondly remembered; now, therefore, be it 

 2-7           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

 2-8     75th Legislature, hereby honor the memory of

 2-9     Jacque Ione Foster McClure and extend sincere condolences to

2-10     the members of her family:  her husband, Winn; her daughter,

2-11     Debbie Foster; her sons and daughters-in-law, Curtis and

2-12     Janis McClure and Bobby and LaNae McClure; and her grandchildren,

2-13     Angela Foster, Leland Foster, Raymond Hammond, Christen Hammond,

2-14     and Garrett McClure; and, be it further

2-15           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be

2-16     prepared for her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from

2-17     the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it

2-18     do so in memory of Jacque Ione Foster McClure.
