 1-2                              SENATE RESOLUTION

 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to

 1-4     extend congratulations to the Crandall Volunteer Fire Department

 1-5     on the grand opening and dedication of its new facilities on

 1-6     March 8, 1997; and

 1-7           WHEREAS, The Crandall Volunteer Fire Department is staffed

 1-8     by one fire chief and 34 volunteers who have handled their

 1-9     responsibilities with efficiency and dedication to those they so

1-10     conscientiously serve; and

1-11           WHEREAS, Responding to a vital community need, the

1-12     State of Texas and the City of Crandall furnished grants and

1-13     donated land for the building of a new facility to house the fire

1-14     department; and

1-15           WHEREAS, Volunteers, concerned citizens, and friends spent

1-16     many months and untold hours of their time to complete the inside

1-17     of the new building; and

1-18           WHEREAS, All flooring, electrical wiring, plumbing, tile, and

1-19     cabinets have been donated by various companies; the installation

1-20     work was all done by volunteers and friends; and

1-21           WHEREAS, Their meritorious work and exemplary devotion to

1-22     their community have earned the members of the Crandall Volunteer

1-23     Fire Department and the workers the admiration and esteem of the

 2-1     residents of the City of Crandall; now, therefore, be it

 2-2           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

 2-3     75th Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Crandall

 2-4     Volunteer Fire Department and extend best wishes to them and the

 2-5     citizens of Crandall for a most joyful grand opening and dedication

 2-6     ceremony; and, be it further

 2-7           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

 2-8     the Crandall Volunteer Fire Department as a memento of this grand

 2-9     occasion.
