 1-2                              SENATE RESOLUTION

 1-3           WHEREAS, The Texas Senate takes pleasure in recognizing the

 1-4     former Mary Eleanor Comiskey and Max Herbert Ludwig on the momentous

 1-5     occasion of their 50th anniversary; and

 1-6           WHEREAS, Affirming their mutual love and respect, this special

 1-7     couple committed themselves to share, to respect one another, and to

 1-8     love one another; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, Favored with God's grace and blessing,

1-10     Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig celebrated their golden anniversary with a

1-11     reaffirmation of their wedding vows at Saint John Catholic Church

1-12     in Ennis, Texas, on Sunday, February 16, 1997, surrounded by their

1-13     family and friends; and

1-14           WHEREAS, Clinging steadfastly to traditional Catholic family

1-15     values, Mary and Herbert provided a happy and secure home for

1-16     their five children:  Michael Ludwig, Pat Webster, Rosemary Chesley,

1-17     Joellen Lennon, and Sylvia Fry; and

1-18           WHEREAS, An anniversary brunch, hosted by their children and

1-19     14 grandchildren, was held at the Knights of Columbus dining room

1-20     following the church service; and

1-21           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig take great pride in the close

1-22     and loving relationships they share today with their children and

1-23     grandchildren; and

 2-1           WHEREAS, For half a century the anniversary couple has shared

 2-2     a strong and lasting marriage filled with many happy times and

 2-3     cherished family memories; built on a foundation of mutual love,

 2-4     trust, and support, their life together has been a source of

 2-5     inspiration and joy for a great many people; now, therefore, be it

 2-6           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

 2-7     75th Legislature, hereby congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Ludwig

 2-8     on their 50th anniversary; and, be it further

 2-9           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

2-10     Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig as an expression of the high regard of the

2-11     Texas Senate.
