 1-2                              SENATE RESOLUTION

 1-3           WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans,

 1-4     Martha Lee Dobbs and Robert Dobbs of Palmer, Texas, who have shared

 1-5     50 happy and fulfilling years of marriage, is truly a memorable

 1-6     occasion worthy of special recognition; and

 1-7           WHEREAS, This respected couple met in 1945 and married on

 1-8     February 14, 1947, in Rockwall, Texas; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, Robert served for two years in the military during

1-10     the Korean War and for nine more years until his honorable discharge

1-11     as a Master Sergeant; and

1-12           WHEREAS, A union electrician for over 40 years, Robert and

1-13     Martha lived in Oak Cliff for 43 years before moving to Palmer to

1-14     enjoy a country life; and

1-15           WHEREAS, Loving, patient, and loyal, Robert and Martha have

1-16     been exemplary parents to their two children, Robert Loyd and

1-17     Jacky Lynn; the anniversary couple has five wonderful grandchildren;

1-18     and

1-19           WHEREAS, To celebrate their golden wedding anniversary, Martha

1-20     and Robert were honored by their children with a reception held at

1-21     the Gingerbread House in Cedar Hill; and

1-22           WHEREAS, The long and happy union of Mr. and Mrs. Dobbs is

1-23     certainly an inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it

 2-1           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

 2-2     75th Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to

 2-3     Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dobbs on the occasion of their 50th wedding

 2-4     anniversary; and, be it further

 2-5           RESOLVED, That a special copy of this Resolution be prepared

 2-6     for this distinguished couple as a memento of this distinctive day

 2-7     in their lives.
