 1-2                              SENATE RESOLUTION

 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to

 1-4     recognize Scott Miller of Rockwall on achieving the rank of Eagle

 1-5     Scout; this fine young man joined the elite corps of Eagles recently

 1-6     and was presented the coveted Eagle Badge at a Court of Honor; and

 1-7           WHEREAS, Few achieve this distinguished honor; only two out

 1-8     of every 100 boys in the Boy Scout program ever attain the rank of

 1-9     Eagle Scout; and

1-10           WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and

1-11     promise, Scott advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot, Second,

1-12     First, Star, and Life classes before reaching Eagle Scout; and

1-13           WHEREAS, This personable young man has displayed leadership

1-14     through planning, developing, and conducting a service project;

1-15     a shining example to his fellow Scouts and the citizens of his

1-16     community, he renovated a playground, built a horseshoe pit, and

1-17     landscaped the Rockwall County Child Guidance Center; and

1-18           WHEREAS, Scott is a freshman Rockwall High School student who

1-19     is currently enrolled in a college preparatory curriculum and is

1-20     consistently on the honor roll; he is a member of the First United

1-21     Methodist Church and is active in United Methodist Youth Fellowship;

1-22     and

1-23           WHEREAS, By earning the rank of Eagle Scout, Scott brings

 2-1     great honor to himself, his family, his troop, his community, and

 2-2     his state; now, therefore, be it

 2-3           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

 2-4     75th Legislature, hereby commend Scott Miller of Troop 989 on

 2-5     receiving this prestigious honor and congratulate him on his

 2-6     outstanding achievement; and, be it further

 2-7           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

 2-8     Eagle Scout Miller as an expression of high regard and esteem from

 2-9     the Texas Senate.
