 1-2                              SENATE RESOLUTION

 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is very pleased

 1-4     to welcome Robert Gilmore on the auspicious occasion of his visit

 1-5     to San Antonio; and

 1-6           WHEREAS, The distinguished Mr. Gilmore will be in

 1-7     San Antonio to attend a program conference for Project P.O.D.E.R.

 1-8     on March 25, 1997; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, Mr. Gilmore is a Project Officer for the

1-10     United States Department of Education; and

1-11           WHEREAS, Partnerships for Opportunities, Development,

1-12     Education, and Resources for Hispanic parents and their families

1-13     (Project P.O.D.E.R.) has been of inestimable benefit to the

1-14     citizens of San Antonio; providing a range of programs, services,

1-15     and resources to parents, the program has strengthened and enriched

1-16     their families; and

1-17           WHEREAS, The citizens of the State of Texas are honored

1-18     to have Robert Gilmore as a visitor in our state and feel

1-19     fortunate that an individual of his expertise can contribute to

1-20     Project P.O.D.E.R.; now, therefore, be it

1-21           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

1-22     75th Legislature, hereby extend a gracious welcome to

1-23     Robert Gilmore and hope that his visit is a most enjoyable one;

 2-1     and, be it further

 2-2           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

 2-3     Mr. Gilmore as an expression of the high regard and esteem of

 2-4     the Texas Senate.
