 1-3                                  In Memory

 1-4                                     of

 1-5                             Fred Brulloths, Sr.

 1-6           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens

 1-7     of Corpus Christi in mourning the loss of Fred Brulloths, Sr., who

 1-8     died February 24, 1997, at the age of 73; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, Mr. Brulloths served his country during World War II

1-10     in the United States Navy and was a member of the Veterans of

1-11     Foreign Wars; and

1-12           WHEREAS, Well known for his expertise in the tile

1-13     business, he was dedicated to his work as the owner of Brulloths

1-14     Tile Company, a family business he passed down to his grandson,

1-15     John Joey Amador; and

1-16           WHEREAS, An exemplary and distinguished gentleman,

1-17     Mr. Brulloths was respected for his many accomplishments and

1-18     for his leadership in the community; and

1-19           WHEREAS, He was a past member of the International

1-20     Association of Lions Clubs and the National Association of Home

1-21     Builders; he had been a sponsor of the International Little

1-22     League Baseball Club, LULAC Council Number 1, and the Builders

1-23     Association of Corpus Christi; and

 2-1           WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, and generosity, he

 2-2     gave unselfishly of his time to others, and his wisdom, warmth,

 2-3     and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him;

 2-4     and

 2-5           WHEREAS, A devout Christian, he was a member of the Catholic

 2-6     faith; and

 2-7           WHEREAS, Fred Brulloths was a devoted husband, father, and

 2-8     grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured

 2-9     forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it

2-10           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

2-11     75th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the

2-12     bereaved family of Fred Brulloths, Sr.:  his wife of 56 years,

2-13     Frances Brulloths; his daughter, Diane Brulloths Amador; his

2-14     sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Letty Brulloths, Jr.,

2-15     Mary Alice Brulloths, Benny and Kelly Brulloths, John and

2-16     Mary Brulloths, and Harry Brulloths; his brother, Frank Brulloths;

2-17     and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and, be it further

2-18           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

2-19     the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from

2-20     the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it

2-21     do so in memory of Fred Brulloths, Sr.
