 1-2                              SENATE RESOLUTION

 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in

 1-4     recognizing Ann Price Norwood of Alvin on the occasion of her

 1-5     58th birthday on March 25, 1997; and

 1-6           WHEREAS, Born on March 25, 1939, she is the first daughter

 1-7     in a family of five children born to Louise Hall and Harold Price;

 1-8     and

 1-9           WHEREAS, An intelligent young woman, she was valedictorian

1-10     at Saint Xavier Academy in June, 1957; after completing her

1-11     schooling, she worked as a stewardess for Trans World Airlines

1-12     for four years; and

1-13           WHEREAS, Ann Price married Marvin Norwood on June 7, 1962;

1-14     together they made a home and raised a family; they are proud of

1-15     their children, Kelly, Lori, Mark, and Amy Ross, and their three

1-16     granddaughters and one grandson; and

1-17           WHEREAS, After Marvin graduated from West Point in 1962,

1-18     he spent 20 years in the United States Army; the Norwood family

1-19     moved over 20 times in 21 years to places all over the globe;

1-20     they lived in Brazil, Panama, and Thailand, before they finally

1-21     settled in Texas in 1981; and

1-22           WHEREAS, A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother,

1-23     Mrs. Norwood also contributed her time and energies to working

 2-1     for the Catholic Church for several years in North Carolina and

 2-2     Texas; and

 2-3           WHEREAS, One who wants to give something back to her

 2-4     community, she is currently volunteering as a pastoral caregiver

 2-5     in Catholic hospitals; and

 2-6           WHEREAS, Married to the City Manager of Alvin, Ann has

 2-7     worked diligently for the Republican Party in Alvin; now,

 2-8     therefore, be it

 2-9           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

2-10     75th Legislature, hereby extend birthday greetings to

2-11     Ann Price Norwood and wish her many more happy birthdays in

2-12     the future; and, be it further

2-13           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared

2-14     for Mrs. Norwood as an expression of the highest esteem of the

2-15     Texas Senate.
