 1-2                                  In Memory

 1-3                                     of

 1-4                            Eddie Ray Easter, Sr.

 1-5           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the

 1-6     citizens of Marble Falls in mourning the loss of prominent citizen

 1-7     Eddie Ray Easter, Sr., who died on February 24, 1997, at the age of

 1-8     66; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, Born on June 7, 1930, in Pecos, Texas, he was the

1-10     son of Leroy and Olive Lela Easter; and

1-11           WHEREAS, A longtime resident of Marble Falls, Mr. Easter and

1-12     his family have lived there more than 20 years; and

1-13           WHEREAS, Eddie Ray greatly enjoyed his profession as an

1-14     automobile mechanic, and he was known throughout his community

1-15     as a tradesman with integrity and ability; and

1-16           WHEREAS, An exemplary and distinguished gentleman, Mr. Easter

1-17     was respected for his many accomplishments; and

1-18           WHEREAS, A man of honesty, courage, and generosity, he gave

1-19     unselfishly of his time to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and

1-20     valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and

1-21           WHEREAS, Eddie Ray Easter was a devoted husband and father,

1-22     as well as a staunch friend, and his wise counsel and sound judgment

1-23     will be remembered with gratitude by the loved ones and friends who

 2-1     sought his advice and friendship; and

 2-2           WHEREAS, Mr. Easter leaves a legacy of compassion and

 2-3     commitment that will be remembered with gratitude by all who knew

 2-4     and loved him; now, therefore, be it

 2-5           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

 2-6     75th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the

 2-7     family of Eddie Ray Easter, Sr.:  his wife, Loice B. Easter;

 2-8     and his daughters and sons-in-law, Lela and Robert Haney and

 2-9     Edna and Jeff Kelbly; and, be it further

2-10           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his

2-11     family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate,

2-12     and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of

2-13     Eddie Ray Easter, Sr.
