1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 429

        1-2           WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary is a joyous occasion that

        1-3     calls for much celebration; and

        1-4           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Marland G. Adams of Waxahachie, Texas,

        1-5     have reason to rejoice; since their marriage on February 28, 1947,

        1-6     in Italy, Texas, Joyce and Marland have built a life together based

        1-7     on loyalty and devotion; and

        1-8           WHEREAS, The beloved couple were honored by their children and

        1-9     grandchildren on March 1, 1997, at a family dinner; friends joined

       1-10     in sharing this special day and congratulating them on reaching this

       1-11     momentous milestone in their lives; and

       1-12           WHEREAS, The loving respect Joyce and Marland have for one

       1-13     another is evident to all who are fortunate to know them; and

       1-14           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Adams have been blessed with a

       1-15     wonderful family; their children, Linda Lewis and Harold Guy and

       1-16     Terese Adams, and their grandchildren, Amy Edwards, Jeff Edwards,

       1-17     and Hannah Adams, have been the source of much enjoyment; and

       1-18           WHEREAS, God's grace and blessings have been bestowed

       1-19     in abundance on the devoted couple; now, therefore, be it

       1-20           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

       1-21     75th Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to

       1-22     Mr. and Mrs. Marland G. Adams on their golden wedding

       1-23     anniversary; and, be it further

        2-1           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

        2-2     the distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in their

        2-3     lives.
