1-1 1 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 502 1-3 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in 1-4 recognizing Charles Cloyd "Bud" Earle, an outstanding citizen 1-5 of our state, on the grand occasion of his 80th birthday on 1-6 April 14, 1997; and 1-7 WHEREAS, Charles Cloyd "Bud" Earle was born on the 1-8 Earle Ranch outside of Fort Worth, Texas, on April 14, 1917; 1-9 the ranch belonged to Mr. Earle's parents, Charles Jefferson Earle 1-10 and Clara Boyer Earle, and the land had been settled by his 1-11 grandparents before the Civil War; Mr. Earle is a descendant 1-12 of one of the signers of the United States' Declaration of 1-13 Independence; and 1-14 WHEREAS, At the age of 20, Bud Earle married Lowleta Muse 1-15 and designed and built a home for his wife and children on his 1-16 family's land; and 1-17 WHEREAS, Ambitious, talented, and patriotic, Bud Earle 1-18 embarked on a career with General Dynamics as a builder of the 1-19 F-16 fighter planes; the planes proved critical to the success 1-20 of the United States' overseas campaigns, and Mr. Earle's 1-21 successful career spanned 40 years and three wars; and 1-22 WHEREAS, An exemplary and distinguished gentleman, Bud Earle 1-23 is respected throughout the state for his accomplishments and 2-1 for his dedication to his work in the community; in Fort Worth, 2-2 he was a Sunday school teacher with the Birdville Baptist 2-3 Church, and he was formerly an Assistant Boy Scout Leader for 2-4 his son Ronnie Earle, the current Travis County district 2-5 attorney; and 2-6 WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Mr. Earle taught his nephew 2-7 Bob Bailey, the current county agent for Boerne, Texas, about 2-8 land and agriculture and has taught his grandchildren to ride 2-9 horses, tend cattle, and grow crops; and 2-10 WHEREAS, A model Texas citizen and a man of high moral 2-11 principles, Bud Earle taught his children, by word and by example, 2-12 to value honesty and to work tirelessly; at the age of 80, 2-13 Bud Earle continues to work as a Senate Car Guard, and he is 2-14 a source of much pride to his family and to his state; now, 2-15 therefore, be it 2-16 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-17 75th Legislature, hereby express appreciation to 2-18 Charles Cloyd "Bud" Earle on his many contributions to his 2-19 state and nation and extend best wishes to him on the joyous 2-20 occasion of his 80th birthday; and, be it further 2-21 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-22 Bud Earle as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-23 Barrientos 2-24 ______________________________________ 2-25 President of the Senate 2-26 I hereby certify that the above 2-27 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 3-1 on April 15, 1997. 3-2 ______________________________________ 3-3 Secretary of the Senate 3-4 ______________________________________ 3-5 Member, Texas Senate
