1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 508

        1-2           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to recognize

        1-3     the members of the George H. Hermann Society of Hermann Hospital in

        1-4     Houston; and

        1-5           WHEREAS, A private, not-for-profit institution, Hermann

        1-6     Hospital was founded as a gift from philanthropist George H. Hermann

        1-7     to the people of Houston; and

        1-8           WHEREAS, Mr. Hermann dreamed of giving the citizens of

        1-9     Houston a hospital dedicated to providing excellence in medicine

       1-10     and compassionate care for all; and

       1-11           WHEREAS, The George H. Hermann Society is composed of Houston

       1-12     citizens who volunteer their time and effort to further the mission

       1-13     of Hermann Hospital; now, therefore, be it

       1-14           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

       1-15     75th Legislature, hereby welcome the members of the George H. Hermann

       1-16     Society of Hermann Hospital and commend them on their significant

       1-17     achievements; and, be it further

       1-18           RESOLVED, That April 22, 1997, be declared George H. Hermann

       1-19     Society Day in Austin, Texas; and, be it further

       1-20           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the

       1-21     society as an expression of the highest regard and esteem of the

       1-22     Texas Senate.
