1-1 1 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 550 1-3 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 1-4 express its appreciation to Assistant District Attorney Terri Moore 1-5 for her invaluable contributions to Tarrant County over the past 10 1-6 years; and 1-7 WHEREAS, A dedicated and resourceful attorney, 1-8 Terri Moore worked diligently to reduce crime in Tarrant County, 1-9 and her efforts have been highly successful; and 1-10 WHEREAS, As Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division in the 1-11 Tarrant County District Attorney's Office since 1993, she was 1-12 supervising attorney over four felony courts, the Gang Unit, and 1-13 the Juvenile Department; and 1-14 WHEREAS, She courageously faced the challenges of 1-15 identifying and prosecuting gang members in Tarrant County, and 1-16 her work was outstanding in curbing gang violence; and 1-17 WHEREAS, After graduating from Texas Christian University 1-18 with a bachelor of arts degree in 1983, she continued her studies 1-19 at South Texas College of Law, where she earned her doctor of 1-20 jurisprudence degree in 1986; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Having served with distinction as assistant 1-22 criminal district attorney from 1987 to 1990, Terri Moore gained 1-23 valuable experience as chief prosecutor of Criminal District Court 2-1 Number 2 and of the Gang Unit in the county district attorney's 2-2 office; and 2-3 WHEREAS, She freely shared her expertise with many civic 2-4 and community groups which was beneficial in providing information 2-5 for others who are working in their communities to reduce crime 2-6 and gang violence; and 2-7 WHEREAS, Chairwoman of the Gang Task Force Committee on 2-8 Legislation, Terri Moore has been guest speaker for continuing 2-9 education seminars, both civic and legal; in 1995, she was an 2-10 instructor for the Department of Justice, National Gang Enforcement 2-11 Prevention Training Conference; and 2-12 WHEREAS, Her professional activities include membership 2-13 in the State Bar of Texas, the Tarrant County Bar Association, and 2-14 the Texas District and County Attorneys Association, and she is a 2-15 fellow in the Texas Bar Foundation; and 2-16 WHEREAS, Esteemed by her colleagues for her notable 2-17 accomplishments, Terri Moore earned the admiration and appreciation 2-18 of the citizens of Tarrant County, and she will be greatly missed 2-19 by all those who have had the privilege of working with her; now, 2-20 therefore, be it 2-21 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-22 75th Legislature, hereby commend Assistant District Attorney 2-23 Terri Moore for her excellent service to the people of Texas 2-24 and extend best wishes to her in her new position with the 2-25 United States Attorney's office; and, be it further 3-1 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 3-2 her as an expression of the high regard of the Texas Senate. 3-3 Moncrief 3-4 ______________________________________ 3-5 President of the Senate 3-6 I hereby certify that the above 3-7 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 3-8 on April 23, 1997. 3-9 ______________________________________ 3-10 Secretary of the Senate 3-11 ______________________________________ 3-12 Member, Texas Senate
