1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 558 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in 1-3 recognizing Mark P. Tapley of Killeen, who recently won second 1-4 place in the Central Texas College 1997 "Students in Free 1-5 Enterprise" short essay contest; and 1-6 WHEREAS, In his short essay, Mr. Tapley proposed the 1-7 creation of a national commission to define and resolve seemingly 1-8 intractable budget problems; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Mr. Tapley's essay reflects his insight and 1-10 concern over the challenges our nation faces in the years ahead, 1-11 and he deserves praise for the content of his essay, as well as 1-12 for his creativity and excellent writing skills; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Mark Tapley is a superior student whose scholarly 1-14 pursuits and intellectual vigor are exemplary, and he is a model 1-15 for college students throughout the state; now, therefore, be it 1-16 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-17 75th Legislature, hereby commend Mark Tapley on his exceptional 1-18 scholastic achievements and extend congratulations to him on 1-19 earning second place in the Central Texas College 1997 "Students 1-20 in Free Enterprise" short essay contest; and, be it further 1-21 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 1-22 Mark Tapley as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. 1-23 Fraser 2-1 ______________________________________ 2-2 President of the Senate 2-3 I hereby certify that the above 2-4 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-5 on April 23, 1997. 2-6 ______________________________________ 2-7 Secretary of the Senate 2-8 ______________________________________ 2-9 Member, Texas Senate
