1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 559

        1-2           WHEREAS, Tuesday, March 25, 1997, will be a day long

        1-3     remembered by Melissa and Rick Noriega, for on that day, their

        1-4     son, Richard Joel Noriega, Jr., was born at Saint Luke's Hospital

        1-5     in Houston; and

        1-6           WHEREAS, Weighing six pounds and two ounces, the healthy

        1-7     baby boy fulfilled his parents' dearest wish by his safe arrival

        1-8     at 8:17 a.m. on that day; and

        1-9           WHEREAS, A robust 18 inches long, Richard Joel Noriega, Jr.,

       1-10     was enthusiastically welcomed into his new family by his parents;

       1-11     and

       1-12           WHEREAS, This charming young man has won a special place in

       1-13     many hearts, and it is fitting that he receive an official welcome

       1-14     to his state; now, therefore, be it

       1-15           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

       1-16     75th Legislature, hereby commend Richard Joel Noriega, Jr., on

       1-17     his Texas citizenship and congratulate Melissa and Rick on the

       1-18     birth of their son; and, be it further

       1-19           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

       1-20     the new Texas citizen and his parents as an expression of high

       1-21     regard from the Texas Senate.
