1-1 1 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 590 1-3 In Memory 1-4 of 1-5 Marcelo Arocha 1-6 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the 1-7 citizens of Austin in mourning the loss of Marcelo "M. C." Arocha, 1-8 who died April 1, 1997, at the age of 74; and 1-9 WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Austin, Marcelo Arocha was 1-10 respected for his many accomplishments and was a beloved leader 1-11 in the community; and 1-12 WHEREAS, An exemplary gentleman and a devout Christian, 1-13 Marcelo Arocha was a member of Cristo Rey Catholic Church, where 1-14 he served as an usher, and was a member of the Cursillistas 1-15 Christianity Movement, the Men's Club, and the Knights of Columbus; 1-16 he was First Eucharistic Minister under Monsignor Lonnie Reyes; and 1-17 WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, compassion, and 1-18 generosity, he gave unselfishly of his time to others, and his 1-19 wisdom, warmth, and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those 1-20 who knew him; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Marcelo Arocha was a devoted husband, father, and 1-22 grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured 1-23 forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it 2-1 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-2 75th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved 2-3 family of Marcelo Arocha: his wife of 49 years, Felice Arocha; his 2-4 daughter, Dolores Dotti Chapa; his sons and daughters-in-law, 2-5 Marcel and Mary Arocha, Robert and Patricia Arocha, Emil D. and 2-6 Carolyn Gonzales, and Richard Gonzales; his brothers, Eliseo Arocha 2-7 and Catarino Arocha; and his 19 grandchildren and 15 2-8 great-grandchildren; and, be it further 2-9 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the 2-10 members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the 2-11 Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so 2-12 in memory of Marcelo Arocha. 2-13 Barrientos 2-14 ______________________________________ 2-15 President of the Senate 2-16 I hereby certify that the above 2-17 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-18 on April 28, 1997, by a rising vote. 2-19 ______________________________________ 2-20 Secretary of the Senate 2-21 ______________________________________ 2-22 Member, Texas Senate
