1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 596

        1-2           WHEREAS, The Texas Senate is proud to honor Coach Teri Eubank

        1-3     for receiving the distinguished Coach of the Year award for

        1-4     District 18-AAA for 1996 and the members of the Manor High School

        1-5     Lady Mustangs volleyball team for their outstanding success in

        1-6     volleyball in 1996; and

        1-7           WHEREAS, After earning the District 18-AAA title with only

        1-8     one loss during the regular season, the Lady Mustangs met the

        1-9     Lorena High School volleyball team in a bi-district game,

       1-10     defeating the team, 15-7, 15-8; and

       1-11           WHEREAS, With the area championship at stake, Manor again

       1-12     dominated its opponent, beating Palestine-Westwood High School in

       1-13     two games, 15-9, 15-10, and continuing on through the playoffs; and

       1-14           WHEREAS, After the area victory, Coach Eubank and her Lady

       1-15     Mustangs went on to play in the Regional Tournament against the

       1-16     Bellville Brahmanettes, an appearance that no other Manor

       1-17     volleyball team has ever achieved in the history of Manor's

       1-18     volleyball program; they lost to the next state champions, 15-7,

       1-19     15-3; and

       1-20           WHEREAS, Coach Teri Eubank has consistently inspired her

       1-21     athletes to perform at the highest possible level and has instilled

       1-22     in them the value of hard work and a competitive spirit; her teams

       1-23     are a tremendous source of pride to the students and the faculty of

        2-1     Manor High School and to their many supporters in the community;

        2-2     her many accomplishments have rightfully earned special legislative

        2-3     recognition; now, therefore, be it

        2-4           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

        2-5     75th Legislature, hereby commend Teri Eubank for her extraordinary

        2-6     contributions to the students of Manor High School and extend

        2-7     warmest best wishes to her for continued success in all future

        2-8     endeavors; and, be it further

        2-9           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be

       2-10     prepared for Coach Teri Eubank as an expression of high regard

       2-11     from the Texas Senate.
