1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 609 1-2 WHEREAS, Kirsten Dietz, press secretary and legislative aide to 1-3 Texas State Senator David Sibley, has won four awards in the annual 1-4 Texas Professional Communicators' communication contest, and the 1-5 Texas Senate is proud to recognize her; and 1-6 WHEREAS, Her first place winner, a single press release 1-7 about ending school tax abatements, was forwarded to the National 1-8 Federation of Press Women competition; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Extraordinarily talented, Kirsten won a second award 1-10 for an editorial on how tax abatements hurt Texas school systems; and 1-11 WHEREAS, This gifted young woman won a third award for an 1-12 editorial focusing on tort reform; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Kirsten and other winners were feted on April 12, 1997, 1-14 at the Texas Professional Communicators' Awards Banquet; and 1-15 WHEREAS, The state president of Texas Professional 1-16 Communicators for the last two years, she is an outstanding 1-17 young woman with excellent leadership ability; and 1-18 WHEREAS, In all her pursuits, Miss Dietz has always 1-19 given 100 percent of her time, abilities, and attention, and her 1-20 accomplishments are certainly worthy of recognition; now, therefore, 1-21 be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-23 75th Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to Kirsten Dietz 2-1 for winning four awards in the annual Texas Professional 2-2 Communicators' contest; and, be it further 2-3 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-4 Kirsten Dietz as an expression of the highest regard and esteem 2-5 of the Texas Senate. 2-6 Sibley 2-7 ______________________________________ 2-8 President of the Senate 2-9 I hereby certify that the above 2-10 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-11 on April 30, 1997. 2-12 ______________________________________ 2-13 Secretary of the Senate 2-14 ______________________________________ 2-15 Member, Texas Senate
