1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 610 1-2 In Memory 1-3 of 1-4 Sammy L. Griffith 1-5 WHEREAS, North Richland Hills lost one of its leading 1-6 citizens with the death of Sammy L. Griffith, who died 1-7 October 16, 1996, at the age of 57; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Born on February 18, 1939, Sammy Griffith graduated 1-9 from Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth in 1957; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Realizing the value of higher education, he attended 1-11 and graduated from Arlington State College in 1964; and 1-12 WHEREAS, A successful businessman, Mr. Griffith had been vice 1-13 president and chief financial officer of Sprint Press, 1-14 Incorporated; and 1-15 WHEREAS, A man of integrity, courage, and generosity, he gave 1-16 unselfishly of his time to others, and his wisdom, warm sense of 1-17 humor, and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew 1-18 him; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Sammy L. Griffith was a devoted father, and he 1-20 leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his 1-21 family and many friends; now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-23 75th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the 2-1 family of Sammy L. Griffith: his wife, Karen Griffith; his son 2-2 and daughter-in-law, Terry and Patti Griffith; and his brother, 2-3 Fred Griffith; and, be it further 2-4 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the 2-5 members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from 2-6 the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it 2-7 do so in memory of Sammy L.
