1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 616

        1-2           WHEREAS, The City of Austin and the State of Texas are justly

        1-3     proud of one of their fine young citizens, Brian Allen Bibeau, who

        1-4     recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout; and

        1-5           WHEREAS, This outstanding young gentleman brought honor to

        1-6     himself, his family, his troop, his community, and his state in

        1-7     earning the coveted Eagle Badge; and

        1-8           WHEREAS, Brian completed a service project which required him

        1-9     to exercise his leadership abilities and at the same time benefit

       1-10     his community; and

       1-11           WHEREAS, For his Eagle project, Brian built a meditation area

       1-12     on the grounds of his church as a memorial to Travis Mitchell, a

       1-13     youth member of the congregation who was killed in a plane crash

       1-14     in 1996; and

       1-15           WHEREAS, Few are ever privileged to be named among the ranks

       1-16     of the elite corps of Eagle Scouts; only two out of every 100 Boy

       1-17     Scouts reach this lofty position; and

       1-18           WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and

       1-19     promise, Brian advanced from Tenderfoot, Second, First, Star,

       1-20     and Life classes to that of Eagle Scout; he is truly an exemplary

       1-21     citizen of the State of Texas; now, therefore, be it

       1-22           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

       1-23     75th Legislature, hereby congratulate Brian Allen Bibeau of

        2-1     Troop 448 on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and commend him

        2-2     on this great achievement; and, be it further

        2-3           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

        2-4     Eagle Scout Bibeau as a token of great admiration and esteem

        2-5     from the Texas Senate.
