1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 641 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in 1-3 recognizing Kathy Carter on her loyal service as chairman of the 1-4 Navarro County Republican Party; and 1-5 WHEREAS, A native of Tacoma, Washington, Kathy Carter moved 1-6 to Corsicana, Texas, where she has been a respected leader in her 1-7 community and is recognized as an outstanding citizen; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Mrs. Carter became chairman of the Navarro County 1-9 Republican Party in 1994, and over the last three years, she has 1-10 presided over the affairs of the organization with exceptional 1-11 dedication and skill; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Her many responsibilities have included conducting 1-13 monthly meetings and organizing election primaries, neighborhood 1-14 campaign walks, fundraising dinners, and garage sales; most 1-15 importantly, she secured for the party a highly visible 1-16 headquarters at Corsicana's busiest intersection; and 1-17 WHEREAS, During her tenure as chairman of the Navarro County 1-18 Republican Party, Kathy Carter became well known for her first-rate 1-19 organizational skills and her reliable judgment, and she has been a 1-20 source of strength to the Republican Party; and 1-21 WHEREAS, An exemplary and distinguished lady with an engaging 1-22 personality, Kathy Carter is beloved and respected by the people 1-23 of Navarro County, and she will be greatly missed by the citizens 2-1 of Corsicana and the members of the Navarro County Republican Party; 2-2 now, therefore, be it 2-3 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-4 75th Legislature, hereby commend Kathy Carter on her three years of 2-5 hard work and her many contributions to the Republican Party and 2-6 extend to her best wishes for the future; and, be it further 2-7 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her 2-8 as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-9 Ogden 2-10 ______________________________________ 2-11 President of the Senate 2-12 I hereby certify that the above 2-13 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-14 on May 2, 1997. 2-15 ______________________________________ 2-16 Secretary of the Senate 2-17 ______________________________________ 2-18 Member, Texas Senate
