1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 671

        1-2           WHEREAS, Kenneth Tucker and Wilma Ruth Gilmer were married

        1-3     50 years ago on April 6, 1947; and

        1-4           WHEREAS, The fortunate couple have four children,

        1-5     Keith Tucker, Dennis Tucker, Van Tucker, and Paula Garrett;

        1-6     and

        1-7           WHEREAS, The anniversary couple is blessed with four

        1-8     talented grandchildren; and

        1-9           WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the

       1-10     years of their marriage, yet Mr. and Mrs. Tucker have continued

       1-11     to embrace traditional family and moral values; and

       1-12           WHEREAS, Mr. Tucker served his country honorably with the

       1-13     Merchant Marines during World War II; he is now retired from 33

       1-14     years of service with Proctor & Gamble; and

       1-15           WHEREAS, Loving, patient, and loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Tucker

       1-16     have been exemplary parents; and

       1-17           WHEREAS, By having mutual respect, a sense of humor, zest for

       1-18     life, and an unwavering love for one another, Mr. and Mrs. Tucker

       1-19     serve as outstanding examples of a couple with a happy and

       1-20     successful marriage; and

       1-21           WHEREAS, The long and satisfying union of Mr. and Mrs. Tucker

       1-22     is certainly an inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it

       1-23           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

        2-1     75th Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to

        2-2     Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Tucker on the auspicious occasion of their

        2-3     50th wedding anniversary; and, be it further

        2-4           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be

        2-5     prepared for this distinguished couple as a memento of this

        2-6     notable day in their lives.
