1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 672

        1-2           WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary is a grand occasion and

        1-3     calls for much celebration; and

        1-4           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Phillips of Reagor Springs, Texas,

        1-5     have reason to rejoice; since their marriage on January 6, 1947, in

        1-6     Gainesville, Doris and R. C. have built a life together based on

        1-7     loyalty and devotion; and

        1-8           WHEREAS, The achievement of this important milestone is

        1-9     the result of the love, friendship, and mutual respect of two

       1-10     outstanding individuals; and

       1-11           WHEREAS, God's grace and blessings have been bestowed in

       1-12     abundance on the beloved couple; they are proud of their growing

       1-13     family that includes their children:  Mr. and Mrs. Dick Phillips,

       1-14     Mr. and Mrs. Jim Phillips, the Reverend and Mrs. John Phillips,

       1-15     Karen Brabham, and Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Phillips; and their 16

       1-16     grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and

       1-17           WHEREAS, Active members of their community, R. C. is retired

       1-18     from a lucrative career as a farmer and Doris is employed as an

       1-19     artist and an actress; and

       1-20           WHEREAS, Their long and happy union has been an inspiration

       1-21     to all who have had the privilege of knowing them; now, therefore,

       1-22     be it

       1-23           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

        2-1     75th Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to

        2-2     Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Phillips on their golden wedding anniversary

        2-3     with best wishes for many more years of continued happiness; and,

        2-4     be it further

        2-5           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the

        2-6     distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in their lives.
