1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 674

        1-2           WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary is a splendid occasion and

        1-3     calls for much celebration; and

        1-4           WHEREAS, Nell Carden and W. R. "Roland" Taylor of Lavon, Texas,

        1-5     were married on January 10, 1947, in Nevada, and they have formed

        1-6     an ideal relationship based on loyalty and understanding; and

        1-7           WHEREAS, God's grace and blessings have been bestowed in

        1-8     abundance on the esteemed couple who celebrated their golden

        1-9     wedding anniversary surrounded by their family and friends; a

       1-10     reception hosted by their children was held in their honor on

       1-11     January 4, 1997, at the First Baptist Church of Wylie; and

       1-12           WHEREAS, Their beloved children, David W. and Alesia Taylor

       1-13     and Carol and Andy Holt, and their four grandchildren have been

       1-14     the source of much joy and pride; and

       1-15           WHEREAS, The happiness and companionship Nell and Roland have

       1-16     found together are shining examples to all who are fortunate to

       1-17     know them; now, therefore, be it

       1-18           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

       1-19     75th Legislature, hereby congratulate Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Taylor

       1-20     on their 50th wedding anniversary with best wishes for continued

       1-21     health and happiness; and, be it further

       1-22           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

       1-23     the distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in

        2-1     their lives.
