1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 690 1-2 WHEREAS, On May 13, 1997, Texans from across the state 1-3 and representatives of James Hardie Building Products will 1-4 gather to dedicate the company's new facility in Cleburne, and 1-5 this noteworthy event is truly deserving of special praise and 1-6 recognition; and 1-7 WHEREAS, Based in Australia, James Hardie Building 1-8 Products is an international leader in nonasbestos fiber-cement 1-9 building products and technology, and the firm's decision to 1-10 locate its largest North American plant in Texas is an auspicious 1-11 one for both the company and the people of the Lone Star State; 1-12 and 1-13 WHEREAS, Texas enjoys a reputation as a hospitable 1-14 environment for business, and corporate citizens of the size 1-15 and stature of James Hardie Building Products are welcome 1-16 confirmation of the state's success in attracting investment; 1-17 and 1-18 WHEREAS, This newest asset to the City of Cleburne 1-19 represents a $65 million investment on the part of James Hardie 1-20 Building Products and is expected to employ approximately 165 1-21 workers by the end of 1997, invigorating the local economy even 1-22 while benefiting from the industriousness and skill of the Texas 1-23 workforce; and 2-1 WHEREAS, The dedication of the James Hardie Building 2-2 Products plant in Cleburne is an apt reflection of the mutually 2-3 beneficial relationships that have developed between corporations 2-4 and communities across the state, and the combined energies and 2-5 resources of this dynamic international firm and the people of 2-6 Cleburne bode well for a bright future; now, therefore, be it 2-7 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-8 75th Legislature, hereby commemorate the dedication of the 2-9 James Hardie Building Products facility in Cleburne and extend 2-10 sincere best wishes to all those associated with this worthy 2-11 endeavor. 2-12 Sibley 2-13 ______________________________________ 2-14 President of the Senate 2-15 I hereby certify that the above 2-16 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-17 on May 8, 1997. 2-18 ______________________________________ 2-19 Secretary of the Senate 2-20 ______________________________________ 2-21 Member, Texas Senate
