 1-2                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 695

 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in

 1-4     recognizing Mr. Pi-Cheng Liu on the occasion of his visit to the

 1-5     State Capitol; and

 1-6           WHEREAS, Mr. Liu is the Inspector of the International Trade

 1-7     Commission of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and he is sponsored

 1-8     by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office; and

 1-9           WHEREAS, Mr. Liu is in our country for a program of

1-10     observational training; the aim of the training program is

1-11     to provide opportunities for Mr. Liu to acquire experience and

1-12     knowledge in trade policies and in competition; and

1-13           WHEREAS, This esteemed representative of Taiwan is here to

1-14     learn about the trade policies under the World Trade Organization,

1-15     the relation of competition and trade policies in industrial

1-16     competition, and the investigation of unfair trade practices; and

1-17           WHEREAS, Well educated with a bachelor's degree and a master's

1-18     degree in International Trade from National Chengchi University,

1-19     Mr. Liu hopes to learn a great deal while he is here; and

1-20           WHEREAS, The citizens of the State of Texas are honored to

1-21     have Mr. Pi-Cheng Liu as a guest in the Lone Star State, and it is

1-22     sincerely hoped that his travels here are enjoyable and informative;

1-23     now, therefore, be it

 2-1           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

 2-2     75th Legislature, hereby extend hospitality and a warm welcome

 2-3     to Mr. Pi-Cheng Liu; and, be it further

 2-4           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him

 2-5     as an expression of the highest esteem of the Texas Senate.
