1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 711 1-2 WHEREAS, The United States Internal Revenue Service will 1-3 miss the dedicated service and expertise of Donovan H. Williams, 1-4 who is retiring after a distinguished career of over 36 years; 1-5 and 1-6 WHEREAS, A loyal employee, Mr. Williams is retiring as a 1-7 director within the service; and 1-8 WHEREAS, An exemplary public servant, he has discharged 1-9 his duties in a most conscientious manner; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Noted for his honesty and rectitude, Donovan Williams 1-11 has earned the respect and friendship of his colleagues; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Characteristics of his tenure are ability, 1-13 responsiveness, and commitment to do what is best for the citizens 1-14 of Texas and the United States; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Mr. Williams has been commended for his attention 1-16 to details, his leadership skills, and his positive attitude; and 1-17 WHEREAS, Throughout his long and successful career, 1-18 he has been supported and sustained by his lovely wife, 1-19 Vonnie Waugh Williams, and his four children, Amy, Stephen, 1-20 Shane, and Van; and 1-21 WHEREAS, The varied and notable achievements of 1-22 Mr. Williams have contributed greatly to the growth and 1-23 progress of the State of Texas, and he will be greatly missed; 2-1 now, therefore, be it 2-2 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-3 75th Legislature, hereby commend the career of service of 2-4 Donovan Williams and congratulate him on his well-deserved 2-5 retirement; and, be it further 2-6 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be 2-7 prepared for him as an expression of the highest regard of the 2-8 Texas Senate. 2-9 Barrientos 2-10 ______________________________________ 2-11 President of the Senate 2-12 I hereby certify that the above 2-13 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-14 on May 12, 1997. 2-15 ______________________________________ 2-16 Secretary of the Senate 2-17 ______________________________________ 2-18 Member, Texas Senate
