1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 727

        1-2           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes great

        1-3     pleasure in recognizing Kelly Bradley, who recently was awarded

        1-4     the Distinguished Leadership Award at Northeast Leadership Forum's

        1-5     annual awards luncheon for her work with Metroport Meals on Wheels;

        1-6     and

        1-7           WHEREAS, The award recognizes the best example of volunteer

        1-8     leadership in Northeast Tarrant County; the wide area that

        1-9     Metroport Meals on Wheels serves was a help in winning the award

       1-10     for Kelly; and

       1-11           WHEREAS, The project began in 1980, when Kelly gathered

       1-12     together 15 volunteers willing to cook meals in their kitchens

       1-13     and deliver them to senior citizens in Trophy Club and Roanoke;

       1-14     and

       1-15           WHEREAS, Today, Kelly, as Executive Director, leads more

       1-16     than 500 volunteers with Metroport Meals on Wheels who help

       1-17     deliver meals every weekday to residents who are homebound in

       1-18     10 North Texas cities; and

       1-19           WHEREAS, Kelly Bradley credits her staff for the success

       1-20     which the program has enjoyed and terms it a tribute to the

       1-21     volunteers; she says the program is not work, it is her passion;

       1-22     now, therefore, be it

       1-23           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

       1-24     75th Legislature, hereby congratulate Kelly Bradley for winning

        2-1     the Distinguished Leadership Award and wish her great success in

        2-2     the future; and, be it further

        2-3           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

        2-4     her as an expression of the highest regard of the Texas Senate.
