1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 738

        1-2           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to recognize

        1-3     Mrs. Ruby J. Abel, who is retiring as principal of John Neely Bryan

        1-4     Elementary School after 22 years of loyal service with the Dallas

        1-5     public school system; and

        1-6           WHEREAS, Ruby Abel has long been admired by her fellow

        1-7     educators and by members of the Dallas community for her many

        1-8     talents in the field of education; and

        1-9           WHEREAS, Under her superior leadership, the students at

       1-10     John Neely Bryan Elementary School have learned to persevere in

       1-11     their work and to strive for excellence; and

       1-12           WHEREAS, Hardworking and resourceful, Mrs. Abel skillfully

       1-13     handled the complexities and far-reaching responsibilities of a

       1-14     principal's position; and

       1-15           WHEREAS, As a tribute to her years of dedication in the

       1-16     field of education and her notable achievements at John Neely Bryan

       1-17     Elementary School, the school's faculty and staff have planned a

       1-18     dinner in her honor on May 17, 1997, at the Renaissance Dallas Hotel;

       1-19     now, therefore, be it

       1-20           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

       1-21     75th Legislature, hereby express sincere appreciation to Ruby Abel

       1-22     for making John Neely Bryan Elementary School the high quality

       1-23     institution it is today; and, be it further

        2-1           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her

        2-2     as a token of esteem from the Texas Senate.
