1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 746

        1-2           WHEREAS, Felix Villareal Leal and Theresa Jeanette Stone

        1-3     placed great faith and trust in the future when they married on

        1-4     June 5, 1947, in Augusta, Georgia, and they have been amply

        1-5     rewarded as they will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary;

        1-6     and

        1-7           WHEREAS, Theresa, born in Attawaugan, Connecticut, and Felix,

        1-8     born in Kingsville, Texas, met while serving in the United States

        1-9     Armed Forces in Peking, China; Felix was in the United States

       1-10     Marine Corps and Theresa in the United States Army; and

       1-11           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Leal have operated a successful optical

       1-12     business in Austin, Texas, since March, 1966; and as a talented

       1-13     optician and ocularist, Mr. Leal has inspired the highest of

       1-14     standards among his professional colleagues; and

       1-15           WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the years

       1-16     of their marriage, yet Mr. and Mrs. Felix Leal of Austin, Texas,

       1-17     have steadfastly embraced traditional family and moral values; and

       1-18           WHEREAS, Over the years, they have grown stronger in their

       1-19     love and devotion as together they have experienced the joys and

       1-20     sorrows of everyday living; and

       1-21           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Leal have been blessed with a wonderful

       1-22     family; their children, Von Leal, Donna Leal Henson, Bob Leal,

       1-23     David Leal, Kathleen Leal Menges, and Judi Leal, and their 13

       1-24     grandchildren and six great-grandchildren have been a source of

        2-1     much pride and joy; and

        2-2           WHEREAS, The long and happy union of Felix and Theresa Leal is

        2-3     truly an inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it

        2-4           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

        2-5     75th Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to

        2-6     Mr. and Mrs. Felix Leal on their 50th wedding anniversary; and,

        2-7     be it further

        2-8           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for this

        2-9     distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in their

       2-10     lives.
