1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 749

        1-2           WHEREAS, The wedding anniversary of two outstanding Texans

        1-3     who have shared 55 happy and rewarding years of marriage is truly a

        1-4     memorable occasion worthy of special recognition; and

        1-5           WHEREAS, Henry Stagg and Annice Belle Umphress Renz recently

        1-6     had the privilege of commemorating such an event in their lives when

        1-7     they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on April 3, 1997; and 

        1-8           WHEREAS, United in matrimony at Camp Roberts, California,

        1-9     Mr. and Mrs. Renz have nurtured an enduring relationship that has

       1-10     grown in love and understanding with each passing year and that has

       1-11     been blessed with four children, Randy, Marcy, Rob, and Matt; and 

       1-12           WHEREAS, A World War II veteran, Mr. Renz retired in 1989

       1-13     after 44 years as an independent insurance agent, while Mrs. Renz

       1-14     has dedicated herself to providing a warm and secure home life for

       1-15     the couple's family; and 

       1-16           WHEREAS, Now enjoying the many benefits of a full life

       1-17     together, Mr. and Mrs. Renz find they have more time to pursue

       1-18     their favorite leisure activities, and they still look forward to

       1-19     each day with the same enthusiasm that first sparked their romance

       1-20     many years ago; and

       1-21           WHEREAS, For more than five decades, Stagg and Annice Renz

       1-22     have shared a warm and affectionate union filled with many happy

       1-23     times and cherished family memories; built on a solid foundation of

        2-1     mutual love, trust, and support, their marriage is a source of joy

        2-2     and inspiration to the many friends and family of this fortunate

        2-3     pair; now, therefore, be it

        2-4           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

        2-5     75th Legislature, hereby congratulate Annice Belle Umphress Renz

        2-6     and Henry Stagg on the occasion of their 55th wedding anniversary

        2-7     and extend to them warmest best wishes for continued happiness;

        2-8     and, be it further

        2-9           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be

       2-10     prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Renz as an expression of high regard by

       2-11     the Texas Senate.
