1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 764

        1-2           WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary is a grand occasion

        1-3     worthy of much celebration; and

        1-4           WHEREAS, Joan Reid and Marlin Stidham entered into the bonds

        1-5     of holy matrimony on December 23, 1946, in Athens, Texas, and they

        1-6     have formed an ideal relationship based on loyalty and understanding;

        1-7     and

        1-8           WHEREAS, The achievement of this important milestone is the

        1-9     result of the love, devotion, and mutual respect of two outstanding

       1-10     individuals; and

       1-11           WHEREAS, God's grace and blessings have been bestowed in

       1-12     abundance on the esteemed couple who celebrated their golden

       1-13     wedding anniversary surrounded by their family and friends on

       1-14     December 22, 1996; and

       1-15           WHEREAS, Steadfastly embracing traditional Christian values,

       1-16     Mr. and Mrs. Stidham provided a happy and secure home life for

       1-17     their family; and

       1-18           WHEREAS, Their beloved children, Steve, Buddy, and Brent, and

       1-19     their grandchildren, Clint and Codie, have been the source of much

       1-20     joy and pride; and

       1-21           WHEREAS, Joan and Marlin have found happiness and companionship

       1-22     together, and they are shining examples to all who are fortunate to

       1-23     know them; now, therefore, be it

        2-1           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

        2-2     75th Legislature, hereby congratulate Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Stidham

        2-3     of Kaufman on their golden wedding anniversary with best wishes

        2-4     for continued health and happiness; and, be it further

        2-5           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

        2-6     the distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in their

        2-7     lives.
