1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 811

        1-2           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in

        1-3     recognizing Louis Braeutigam, who is retiring after 23 years of

        1-4     loyal service as the secretary of the Colorado Masonic Lodge

        1-5     Number 96; and

        1-6           WHEREAS, A lifetime resident of the Austin area,

        1-7     Louis Braeutigam has been married to Dovie Schellhase Braeutigam

        1-8     for 52 years, and the couple has been blessed with two children,

        1-9     five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; and

       1-10           WHEREAS, Since 1974, Louis Braeutigam has served as

       1-11     secretary of Colorado Masonic Lodge Number 96; throughout his term

       1-12     in office, he has been an ardent supporter of Texas Public Schools

       1-13     Week and has been a patron of Scottish Rite Hospital for Children

       1-14     and Shriners Hospital for Children and Burns Center; and

       1-15           WHEREAS, A highly respected Mason and leader in the Austin

       1-16     and Round Rock communities, Mr. Braeutigam generously devotes time

       1-17     and energy to civic affairs and volunteer causes; and

       1-18           WHEREAS, He has distinguished himself as a Mason by serving

       1-19     as District Deputy Grand Master of Masonic District 50A of The Most

       1-20     Worshipful Grand Lodge of Texas in 1991; he was selected by his

       1-21     fellow lodge members to be the recipient of the Golden Trowel

       1-22     award in recognition of his meritorious service to his church, his

       1-23     community, and his lodge; and

        2-1           WHEREAS, An exemplary gentleman and humanitarian,

        2-2     Louis Braeutigam is beloved and admired by the members of Colorado

        2-3     Masonic Lodge Number 96, and his many accomplishments reflect his

        2-4     dedication to the Masonic goals and to helping his fellowman; now,

        2-5     therefore, be it

        2-6           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

        2-7     75th Legislature, hereby commend Louis Braeutigam on his exceptional

        2-8     work on behalf of Colorado Masonic Lodge Number 96 and on behalf of

        2-9     area citizens; and, be it further

       2-10           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

       2-11     him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
