1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 828

        1-2           WHEREAS, The Texas Senate is proud to recognize

        1-3     Mahnaz Rehmatullah of Lewisville, Texas, on achieving the

        1-4     Girl Scout Gold Award; this fine young woman was presented

        1-5     the coveted award on June 5, 1997, in Dallas, Texas, by the

        1-6     Tejas Girl Scout Council; and

        1-7           WHEREAS, Few achieve this distinguished award, the highest

        1-8     honor bestowed on girls in the Girl Scout program; and

        1-9           WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Girl Scout oath

       1-10     and promise, Mahnaz advanced through the ranks of Girl Scouting;

       1-11     and

       1-12           WHEREAS, This personable young lady has displayed leadership

       1-13     through planning, developing, and conducting a service project; she

       1-14     is truly a shining example to other Girl Scouts and citizens of her

       1-15     community; and

       1-16           WHEREAS, In receiving the Gold Award, Mahnaz brings great

       1-17     honor to herself, her family, her council, her community, and her

       1-18     state; now, therefore, be it

       1-19           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,

       1-20     75th Legislature, hereby commend Mahnaz Rehmatullah on receiving

       1-21     this prestigious honor and congratulate her on her outstanding

       1-22     achievement; and, be it further

       1-23           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for

        2-1     Mahnaz as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
